Let’s save Birds #White Eared Bulbul

White-Eared Bulbul

The white-eared bulbul (Pycnonotus leucotis), or white-cheeked bulbul, is a member of the bulbul family. It is found in south-western Asia (IRAN) from India to the Arabian peninsula.

Conservation Status

The white-eared bulbul is considered to be belonging to a superspecies along with the Himalayan bulbul, white-spectacled bulbul, African red-eyed bulbul, Cape bulbul, and the common bulbul.

The alternate name is whitecheeked bulbul, apart from being called as the Himalayan bulbul. In Iran it is sometimes referred to as “the bulbul of Tehran“.

Although it’s a rare bird but still one can locate them in human habitats too and it’s a luck I would say.

I clicked all these beautiful pictures of a beautiful White Eared Bulbul at GOVERDHAN in the district of MATHURA (UP.India) in my last trip.

Friends…..It’s a Red Whiskered Bulbul I share here just for not being confused.

It’s a common Red Vented Bulbul I clicked very recently at NOIDA in UP INDIA.

I just have tried to compile all these informations from various sources for making my Blogger as well as Birder friends aware of this little bird and for a better conservation in return.
