INDIAN RINGNECK PARROT
The rose–ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also known as the ring-necked parakeet, is a medium-sized parrot.
Indian rose–ringed parakeet originates from the southern Indian subcontinent and has feral and naturalized populations worldwide. In Australia, Great Britain (mainly around London), the United States, and other western countries, it is often referred to as the Indian ringneck parrot.
Conservation status
The rose-ringed parakeet is sexually dimorphic. The adult male sports a red and black neck ring and the hen and immature birds of both sexes either show no neck rings, or display shadow-like pale to dark grey neck rings. Both sexes have a distinctive green colour. Rose-ringed parakeets measure on average 40 cm (16 in) in length, including the tail feathers.
It is herbivorous and not a migratory Bird.
As a popular pet species, escaped birds have colonised around a number of cities around the world, including Northern and Western Europe.
The species is listed as “least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)”because its population appears to be increasing, but its popularity as a pet and unpopularity with farmers have reduced its numbers in some parts of its native range.

Beautiful. I have seen many and one particular at a roadside dhaba was so garrulous , scolding us as if speaking foul language of truck drivers. So funny. Do they really love green chilly ?
Yes’s they do and right now I am having that breed since 7 years and another African Grey Parrot for the same period as well.Just awesome life companions I would say.
