Dzuluk-The Himalayas Trip

“Dzuluk”or”Zuluk” or ”Jhuluk”or”Jaluk

Dzuluk is a small hamlet located at a height of around|10000|ft on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in(Sikkim) of the Indian state .This place is relatively an emerging and offbeat destination in East Sikkim. Today it is fast emerging as a new tourist destination.

It derives its tourism importance due to the excellent view of the eastern Himalayan mountain range including the (Kanchenjunga).

~Historical Importance~

It was once a transit point to the historic “Silk Route” from Tibet to India. The famous Silk Route that connected “Lhasa” in the (seventeenth century) the capital of the Dalai Lamas(Tibet) to Kalimpong . It was commonly used by traders traveling to Tibet through Jelepla (“La” stands for mountain pass) as an overnight base. The route starts from Kalimpong and passed through Pedong , Aritar , Dzuluk and Jelepha to Chumbi valley in (Tibet).

Every Landscape Photographer has a dream to click this unique Silk Route from various angles.

Our Journey strayed from Dzuluk at around 8.00 am and the road was though covered with snow but the sky was crystal clear with bright Sun Shine.

I was really lucky to get some beautiful shots of Historic Silk Route of International Fame and Kanchenjunga look was awesome beautiful from Thambi point as well.
