*Handicrafts* a #MakeInIndia initiative

India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ is a country rich in its own “cultural heritage”and famous for “handicrafts” which are specific to various regions of India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ and are loved Wroldwide ๐ŸŒŽ.

Recently there has been an “Exhibition“organised by “West Bengal MinoritiesDevelopment & Finance Corporation” West Bengal Government at Jodhpur Park near South City Mall in Kolkata from 23.03.2017 to 05.04.2017.

As me and my wife both are quite fond of such handicrafts had been to there & Fortunately I came across the Managing Director of the said organisation and after interacting with him , I was very much glad to know that “Govt of India” ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ is helping these people mostly from the lowest strata of the society in a big way by lending them money to let them thrive their traditional Art . These people have immense skills in various handicrafts starting from BambooJuteSilkCotton & Leather work. A lot of varieties of Handloom sarees and dress materials were in display .

One of the stalls that attracted me the most was “Dolls ,Key rings & Hats ๐ŸŽฉ” etc made from “Jute and other natural fibres” .

It reminded me another Exhibition We visited last year at Ranchi and I would like to add here some of the clicks from that exhibition organised by “Police ๐Ÿ‘ฎ Officer WivesAssociation”  at “Ranchi” .

Hand made “Lac Bangles” were the main attraction among various items that that was being displayed there .Many artisans from various parts of India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ were there & they were busy making their items in a live demo mode .

These  “Lac Bangles” being crafted on the spot and are quite an object of ornament for ladies from all parts of India (married ladies wear these lac bangles mostly).

Another “stall” that attracted me was hand  crafted “Wooden Dolls“. And I am sure once you see these Wooden hand crafted dolls it will definitely flash back your childhood day’s “sweetest memories” .

To conclude –

my motto behind this “Blog”is to create “awareness” among my readers and let us help these craftsmen in any form possible either by buying or promoting such things so to encourage  “Indian Heritage of Handicraft“.

I know every now and then there is such “Handicraft Exhibition” being organised in various parts of India  and I am personally thankful to You for stopping by my Blog and  give your valuable suggestions  and let’s All promote #MakeInIndia concept .

  2. Bamboo handicrafts are the most eco friendly crafts in India due to being a manufacturer of bamboo. There are many types of goods made from bamboo, such as baskets, dolls, toys, sieve, mats, wall hangings, umbrellas handles, crossbows, kharaahi, kula, dukula, saddle, jewelry boxes etc

Since You liked the jute dolls etc, try the jute wearables also.
They are all weather clothes, summer or winter , now made in bright colours and they get better with each wash.
